Day 53 - Ride Like A Thriver

After breakfast and bidding Adieu to the Gulf of Mexico, we made our way North towards Oberlin, Louisiana - a close to 2 hour drive.

The roads are especially beautiful driving through Crawfish farms and seeing all of the pots sitting submerged in the water.

Hannah's daily update…

We ended up in Ville Platte (pronounced villuh plot) which means flat land.

After filling the gas tank (we never let it get below half a tank) we found a cute restaurant called Cafe Evangeline that was housed in an old bank.

We met beautiful Grace who is a stage 4 Ovarian Cancer Thriver and wrote a book called God's Unstoppable Favor.

We love seeing when towns revitalize old buildings.

We had to return a few fans that stopped running at Walmart and found them items they definitely don’t carry in Arizona!

The only RV park around was at Chicot State Park - no WiFi or reception again. (We are going to have to have a chat with T-mobile. We are still on their old Sprint system and it’s been cramping our ability to communicate with our cancer clients, keep up on social media, and write the daily blog)

Don’t be fooled like we were! The campground is high on the hillside and the lake isn’t visible!

AND, it’s against the law to go in the water because of alligators, snakes, and leaches.

How sad is that?

Chuck braved the biting flies and hiked down to the water.
