Day 60 - Ride Like A Thriver

Chuck:

Hello world. I felt like I was gone for a few days. I woke up around 5:00, took Jax for a walk, let Hannah sleep in and things almost felt normal again. The biggest difference was Jax wanted to play and I’m still moving slow. My body is sore and my face is pretty skinned up. I have a follow up with a nero surgeon in 3 days. I will do what Living Hope Cancer Foundation teaches and everyone should be doing daily which is Pray, Love, Juice, Essential Oils and move the body. Thank you for all of your love and support. Thank you to God my Heavenly Father, you are in control of everything. 🙏🏽❤️🚴🏾 getupandlive.org

Hannah:

One year ago today I was wheelchair bound. It's incredible to see HOW much Chuck & I have experienced over this past 1 year.

That includes 5 months of being in a wheelchair (4 last year and 1 month this past January!)

Jehovah Rapha!

He is my healer. OVER AND OVER again!

4 Days post accident- Thursday May 26

Chuck is so sore. The doctor only prescribed 5 pain pills so I'm glad I bought a bottle each of ibuprofen and Tylenol, and have Arnicare lotion.

We walked down for breakfast and he was able to eat somewhat (the inside of his lips are raw from his teeth cutting them up.) It just takes time!

Our neighbors at the next table heard our story and prayed healing over us!

And then another mom & daughter had overheard our story last night at dinner and she was weeping. She had overcome her own cancer journey pretty recently.

Lots of resting and napping and sitting for Chuck today.

We hope to Uber the bike to a bike shop nearby to see what repairs are needed and to get it fixed - sometimes it can take quite a few days for them to repair - so at least that will be done.

We have a pretty firm end date in Florida in 15 days - whether we bike or drive or do a combo - we will decide that in a few days after more healing & energy.

I have a flight from Orlando on June 13 to catch for treatment. That's the plan right now (it definitely doesn't make sense for us to drive home right - it would take us DAYS)

The hotel is the best place for the next few days with food (breakfast and dinner is included) for us. We trust God to lead us!

And meanwhile we SHARE HIM!

Today I'm very thankful for elevators!

There is Laundry on the 6th floor. Howie is outside (see him in the picture?) and our room is on the 2nd floor.

It probably requires about 20 steps to the laundry from my room🤣

I think it's the closest laundry room YET! Thank you God! (And we only have one load🙌🏼)

Chuck reached out to the cycling glasses company, Tifosi, that he was wearing at the time of his crash. They are sending him a new pair of glasses and some swag!

Check out how scratched his glasses were:

I’m stunned at how quickly his face is healing
