Day 42 - Ride Like A Thriver

Sunday morning and we’ve been in the same RV park for our 3rd night in a row. That’s a first on this trip! Find out why below

Chuck did not skip his ride.

Our new neighbor friend Bobby invited us along to his church. After a time of beautiful worship and a soul building message, we met a few people sitting nearby.
-Bobby, Judah, Sofia, Tara, & Lana

We decided to grab some lunch with Bobby and he shared more of his story of how he lost his legs in a car accident one Christmas Eve when he was 28. It was late at night and on any normal night, no one would have noticed his car catching on fire during his crash. But it was the night before Christmas and a guy nearby was up late wrapping presents and noticed the accident and pulled him out. The accident caused a power outage which woke up a second neighbor sleeping on her couch who immediately called 911. Years later, they “ended up” in the SAME college class with an assignment to share a life changing event. Bobby sat there listening to this woman describe his accident word for word as she shared how it changed her life to pursue her career. That’s the power & kindness of God giving us a peek into how He redeemed the very painful parts of Bobby’s story.
He had become a paraplegic that day and had to rehab for years to get back to walking with prosthetic legs. He was invited to try hand cycling and eventually began working for Wounded Warriors, traveling all over the world to compete and inspire those who were wounded in warfare.
Today he continues the train, motivate, and instill incredible courage in warriors being able to speak from his own pain and loss and showing them the strength God has given him.

Today we honor you Bobby.

Plus we are both super excited to try our Skull Shaver to get our bald heads as magnificently shorn as yours. (Stay tuned)

Zoe’s Kitchen did NOT disappoint.
