Day 17 - Ride Like A Thriver
We woke up to NEAR freezing temperatures. Chuck is still unthawing!
We left camp at 8 am to stop at the local Ace Hardware store we had bought a new poop hose in Wickenburg last week because Howie's hose was broken when Chuck pulled it out of the box to hook it up, the new hose ripped in half. Never a dull moment! The lady at the hardware store gladly replaced the hose and shared her story of her husband’s journey with cancer.
We are OFF to Safford today via Howie to get back up on the bike route. It’s about an hour drive and we will be on safer back roads since Rt 10 does not have service roads on this stretch and bike riding on the highway gave us 2 flat tires yesterday!
Jax CANNOT figure out why Hannah is in “HIS SEAT!”
He finally crawled on her lap.

We made it to Safford, AZ. We saw snow on the tips of the mountains! Temps are In the high 50s and the sun feels hot. A big change from the 90s in Phoenix and Tucson last week!
Chuck had to repair his flat tire from yesterday.

NEW MEXICO!! California and Arizona are complete!
When we crossed into New Mexico, we had to turn our clocks ahead an hour!
We figured it out when our campground neighbors were grilling “at 4:15!” 🤣
At least our dinner was nice & simple using up the ground chicken & thin spaghetti we had cooked two nights ago and adding a few vegetables to the dish.
We already met two of our neighbors and their dogs. Jax makes friends with everyone!
