Day 28 - Ride Like A Thriver

Back at it! Adjusting to the 1 hour time zone change is proving much harder when the sun doesn't rise with the 6 am alarm clock like in Arizona! It’s much harder waking up on the dark.
This morning we had plans to meet Pastor Ron & Velia at their coffee shop before they started church in the adjacent room.

They prayed a blessing over us and graced us with yummy coffee.

Today we drove along pecan orchards and lots of open land with brush.

Sometimes we have to stop and take pictures. We TOTALLY missed the Prada “Store” Art Exhibition just outside of Valentine'- We saw it too late and there was no easy spot to turn Howie around on the 2 way road!

Apparently this is the Tethered Aerostat Radar System for border patrol!

Marfa, Texas is a cute little artsy town with lots more restaurants and stores (although their food store was out of bananas!)

We stopped at The Water Spot for a late lunch.

We poked our heads into a cute Vintage Shop and met the owner. She's a photographer and wanted to take our picture.

We shared our stories and enjoyed looking through the beautiful displays.

We arrived at “Tumble In RV Park” on the east end of Marfa and self checked in inside a tiny vintage camper. It’s slightly gusty, sunny, and in the mid 80’s feeling everything we imagine a town in Texas should feel like.
Another simple but satisfying meal (inspired by the winery in Hillsboro, NM last week) after we picked up an Italian Rosé at a local food store this afternoon.

The trick has been to work through the produce faster than expected in Howie's veggie drawer as they are softening a bit faster than we expect.
Italian Chicken Sausage, organic raw carrots, zucchini, Easter radishes, apple slices, red pepper hummus, pecans, aged Gouda cheese, red pepper stuffed organic olives, and crackers.

We were both full and enjoyed the little bites without a lot of fuss.

Relaxing with a bit of wine in the little Mexican hand-painted cups we found in New Mexico, our small momentos of our trip across America.
RV life is extremely simple when there are only 2 plates, a pan, a knife, a cutting board, and Chuck's bike drink bottles to wash. It air dries in no time & gets cleaned up before bed.

We are heading to bed extra early tonight despite whether the sun has set yet! Showers and chores are finished and soon Day 29 will be dawning.

Chuck & Jax met the neighbors in the camp space next to ours. He and his family donated generously to the ride! We are always in awe of how God moves people to give and introduces us to really neat people!
