Day 46 - Ride Like A Thriver
First things first…let’s deal with the bug guts!
Once we can see through the windshield, we put the slide in, unhook the power, disengage the leveling jacks, release the auto break (we affectionately call it the fake brake because it doesn't do anything) and clip the back and front slide cables. There are lots of steps and we repeat the steps out loud to each other so we don’t miss a step
We drove to the drop off point 4 miles away, choosing to leave early to beat the heat and the bugs. They seem to appear around 10 am.
Around 11:30 we pull into the town of Navasota, Texas. It’s quaint and vintage America with parking spots at angles, coffee shops converted from service stations and a church on every corner. The Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church, and Lutheran Church are catty corner to each other, sharing real estate boundaries much like I imagine we will all be in Heaven - sharing real estate in Heaven
Riding through beautiful horse hill country

Horse and Hill country
We stopped in Navasota, Texas for Coffee. It’s another one of those classic Americana towns I’d love to explore. Navasota is the final town on Map 4 (of 7)
We met Melody, the owner…
And friends Laura and Sandy.
We saw lots of old churches (well, we ARE in the Bible Belt
We arrived at beautiful Cagle Creek Park
After hooking up, we pulled out our electric scooters and drove around the park down to the lake on smooth black top, under tall shade trees, breathing in the crisp scent of pine.
A dragonfly climbed on Chuck's finger!
Chuck takes "Tell Everyone" very seriously and it's what I love the most about him; His incredible love and gratitude that Jesus saved both his physical and spiritual self.
(Pictured, our camp host. She prays for the camp visitors as she does her rounds.)
The song "Let me tell you about my Jesus." runs through my head.
Drone footage of the area.
We met Marvin and her s 3 buddies from high school. They all went to different colleges and decided to hang out and camp for a night. Chuck captured this picture.
It's so displays their beautiful friendship.
