Day 26 - Ride Like A Thriver

As Day 26 dawns with a beautiful sunrise, we get ready slowly, downing our hot coffee and vitamins.

Jax gets FULL of energy after he eats his breakfast and usually he engages us in a game of fetch with one of his favorite toys.

A few chores and unhooking the RV and Chuck is OFF!

The RV site was ON the bike route which rarely happens.

We rode along beautiful mountains today. This one had a cross on top of it!
Thank you Jesus!

Chuck pointing out the cross he saw.

We are all headed in the same direction with different purposes at different paces; trains, bikes, trucks, and cars.
We like the one God has assigned to us!

We got to our destination around noon, Van Horn. Not sure if it was noon in real time since we jumped ahead 1 hour (but our phones wouldn't adjust to the time zone automatically, no matter what we set it as!😆)

We found a highly recommended Mexican restaurant that smelled amazing inside but the owner would not seat us inside with our Service Dog. Apparently he doesn't know that law and we couldn't convince him otherwise so we ended up in another restaurant that didn't smell as good, nor taste as good!
But they loved Jax so there is THAT!

Watch this morning's clip of our day…

When we finally decided on one of the 6 RV parks, we chose one off the main strip because it wasn't sandwiched between a very loud freeway and equally loud train track.
We are very thankful the host gave us a spot under the shade tree and close to the laundry building

While Chuck rested, (he rode into a headwind all morning and some long slow grades uphill) Hannah mapped out the next week to see if we could get a shipment delivered in Del Rio. This trip requires a lot of organization and planning!

It’s a hot one in Texas this afternoon and the blowing wind (dust devils!) means we can’t open the windows. The AC in the living space is not as cool & powerful as in the bedroom in the back.

Chuck definitely felt the heat and the wind today and needed the nap he took!

We are glad it’s a NO RIDE day tomorrow!

Here is a fun 11 second video of Chuck's Go Pro video reverse view.
You can see how we travel on the Service Road together all day.

Dinner was super easy tonight - a raw Endive Salad with radishes, carrots, and English Cucumbers with homemade white balsamic vinaigrette and a Hatch Chile Brat (it’s fun to see what kinds of sausages Sprouts carries in Texas!)

Peek in as we eat dinner😆

Another day draws to a close and we thank God for every moment. Even the hard ones.
