Day 13 - Ride Like A Thriver
Chuck & Hannah are heading from Coolidge to Marana, Arizona today.
Jax is reporting for co-pilot duties.
He has figured out the routine and now climbs right on the passenger seat when Hannah gets in the driver seat.
As we were riding down the road, Chuck saw some ladies standing together talking at a little church…
He stopped to share our story and had a beautiful conversation about “surrendering” everything to Jesus. He showed how his euro bars help remind him to open his hands in surrender to God.

Views today heading towards Tucson…
We stopped for gas at the campground exit and there was a Boy Scout Troup washing cars to raise money. They offered to wash our RV🤣
Instead, Chuck brought over a pile of stickers, and a small donation, and told them our story. The troop leader’s parents had both recently had an experience with cancer and one of the boys, around 10 years old began tearing up and gave Chuck a big hug. “Thank you for your bravery,” he exclaimed.
It’s in these small moments that sometimes one can make the biggest impact.
An after ride meal & Coconut Water (full of electrolytes!)
We checked into the campground with a pool and cooled off in the water before dinner.
Walking to the pool, we met Grace who shared all this produce with us! She had two family members affected by cancer. And we met another lovely couple, the woman had just found out she had tongue cancer.
We don’t believe in coincidences. She needed a faith boost of encouragement that God has greater purposes in our pain than we can see!
Chuck had a hankering for Curry. We “just so happened” to have a can of coconut milk and curry powder (Hannah brought a few pantry staples) and made Organic Vermicelli with ground chicken, cauliflower, onion, carrots, zucchini, and tomato. Comfort food that’s nourishing!
On his walk with Jax to watch the sunset, Chuck shared our story with a neighbor named Rich, three doors down, who was recently diagnosed for the second time. He was able to encourage him & put a smile on his face.
