Day 68 - Ride Like A Thriver

What a beautiful way to start our morning… catching up with James from Chuck's Fostoria, Ohio days.

James and Carrie stopped by Howie so we could meet and get hugs and share stories!

Chuck put a few miles in Biloxi along the beach road. His first time back on a bike since the accident.

He definitely feels the need to get the bike fitted better and needs to adjust to the new bike. He spent over 8 months on Adam so it will take more than 1 day to get used to Hope.

We are super excited to share today's sponsor of the ride - Lucinda Blackwell, the author of Gramble Street. In this high-octane story, Nicole has more than a killer to outrun as it becomes personal and this journey for ultimate truth may cost her everything . . . including her life.

We are super excited to finally meet Lucinda and Richard in person this evening as they are driving down to Dauphine Island where we will be staying.

Here is a glimpse of how Chuck toes and protects the 3 bikes.

Today feels like a big deal to us. Praying for strength and courage.

We drove more than we rode today but we know it’s going to be small rides in good safe places. We will definitely leave much earlier in the morning as well.

We drove along beautiful houses along the Gulf of Mexico, usually choosing to view how people live over taking the major highways and missing the culture.

Today's lunch was FULL of unexpected culture.

The Heritage House.

Once we walked inside the building, we could hardly turn around and walk out! Apparently we had wandered into a very well attended buffet of Deep South Food.

They seated us and assumed we were regulars so they didn't give us any particulars and it took us about 10 minutes to realize we needed to ask for instructions.

We could go to the buffet and help ourselves to however we wanted to eat for x amount. The place was packed and we were shocked because there were 2 pretty large rooms with black diner chairs and black folding tables, not a hint of decor or music. It felt more like a typical church's multipurpose room not a restaurant and more like food at a potluck dinner!

It was our last fore into Mississippi food before we entered Alabama

Sweet Home Alabama.

We saw a plethora of fresh fish, oysters farms, and crawfish as we wound our way mile after mile till we drove over a long bridge towards Dauphine Island.

Chuck secured the very last camp spot on the island! So we better not complain about the lack of trees or shade!

Jax climbed in the front seat while we walked to the office to fill out the paperwork and meet the owners.

His little face up front made us laugh!

He’s enjoying the AC.

We met our friends for dinner - our very first time in person. What a special time!

The evening sky was so beautiful

Thank you Lord for an extra special gift today.
