Day 20 - Ride Like A Thriver
Somehow over our Rest Day, with the bike on the rack, the tube went flat again. Chuck decided to replace both the inner tube and the outer Gator Tire this time. Let’s pray it holds!

On our way to the highest peak, Hannah made the decision to have Chuck DRIVE Howie up and down the very steep and windy switchbacks. There was no shoulder to safely bike either.
We stopped for lunch at the top at Emory Pass - Elevation 8,225 feet. The view was stunning and the wind was whipping!
Jax STILL can't believe he has been booted out of the front seat!!
We finally got to the straight stretch where Hannah could resume driving.

Chuck was cruising into town on his bike ahead of Hannah and passed the turn into the RV park by 2 streets and landed at a little gathering of local cowboys playing Live music. The musical instruments included guitars, a banjo, a fiddle, stand bass, and mandolin. They all took turns singing & playing together!
Then Hannah met Cindy who was running the little farm market selling raw local honey, hand painted signs, and goat milk soaps. She spied her bald head and commented on her smile. She ended up sharing her own cancer story and Hannah had a chance to pray for her upcoming scans.
Her friend Dallas was playing along with the music And has an organic farm nearby.
Horses and cowboys!
We found our RV site!
We walked a block down across the street and met Mary, a local craftsman and seller at the Tradin’ Post. She had beautiful handmade earrings & gifted a pair to Hannah!
She recommended the little Vineyard next door for tapas.
We met Olivia outside when she let us sit at her table!
Singing cowboys
What a day climbing high peaks and meeting amazing people. In the tiny town of Hillsboro of 124 people, I’m pretty sure we met half of them! So unique and welcoming.
Mary made us this cutting board!
