Day 50 - Ride Like A Thriver

We woke up with excitement…

As we drove out of the park, we saw our biking friend Cathy that we had met in West Texas! It’s been fun to reconnect and see fellow bikers on the journey.

Chuck walks (rides) us through how it feels to complete his 5th state!

It was an emotional crossing to get this far with 35 days to go!

We got to DeRidder, LA ready for some Cajun food!

Shrimp Po’ Boy. It was SO good!

And coffee and beignets. I’m pretty sure that won't be the last of them!

We parked near the Court House and what’s known as the “Hanging Jail”

Jax loved running around the grass with his favorite thing…a stick

We pulled into Pinegrove RV Park and hooked up.

It was time. We had bought a dog grooming kit at Walmart yesterday because Jax was just TOO HOT.

Watch his transformation! (It only took us 1.5 hours 🥵 on a very warm afternoon!)

A happy and much cooler dog and two hairy and much hotter parents 😂

After cold showers we heated up the Gumbo and Jambalaya we got for dinner. So delicious!

We met our neighbors and he had some amazing tornado and tractor trailer accident stories that blew our mind - and a humble faith in God as a result of them.
