Day 51 - Ride Like A Thriver

We woke up to big Change of Plans. That’s the beauty of being in charge of our own schedule!

We drove down to Lake Charles instead of to Oberlin where there was no RV Park and then that would pose a tricky day off.

Our plan was to drive all the way down to Holly Beach at the Gulf of Mexico for 2 nights.

Chuck rode is bike to Lake Charles

Chuck stopped at West Lake Baptist Church and met John, a deacon, who “just happened” to walk outside as he pulled up on his bike. He was able to share his story.

We decided to stop for coffee and ended up finding a beautiful French place called “The Bekery”

We ended up getting brunch and meeting lots of people & sharing our stories.

Beautiful food.

Marinated tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil pesto on a seeded French baguette

All for God's Glory!!

After lunch we headed South towards Holly Beach. Up and over the tall bridges over Lake Charles

We drove over an hour to Pickled Pelican RV Park - located in what is considered the Cajun Riviera.

We had a view of the Gulf of Mexico

It didn't take us long to get our suits on and go sit on the sand where we met Pam & Goobie, our neighbors, here with their husbands.

We instantly hit it off with them and they invited us to a Louisiana Fish Fry that evening.

Dinner was fried Perch and Fried Catfish, Hush puppies, and Jalapeño Duck Poppers, Coleslaw, and Ambrosia - Louisiana style
