Day 59 - Ride Like A Thriver

We woke up to a crazy sky

Samuel was my Lyft driver to the hospital this morning. He asked me if I knew who Hannah was in the Bible. I told him “Absolutely!”

He chuckled, “You’re my mammy,” in his southern Louisiana drawl, “but I didn’t know my mammy was white.”

Look who is walking?

Chuck is getting discharged this morning. He has been walking the halls with his physical therapist who checked his eyes again and pronounced him all better!

He was missing when Jax and I arrived and it turned out he was visiting with a patient a few doors down whom I had sat and prayed with a few days ago.

Glad to see he's feeling like himself.

After a shower and signing the paperwork, Chuck got escorted out to the curb via chair!

What an amazing and unexpected three days. We are SO VERY thankful to God that Chuck can be released to recuperate at the hotel Hannah has been staying in.

Hannah was able to take a Lyft to the pharmacy and get Chuck's medication filled and the Lyft back.

After resting all afternoon we went out to the parking lot to see Howie and examine the bike aftermath. Both tires are flat and the front frame is slightly bent so we will eventually get a local bike shop to fix it.

Chuck will need to replace his helmet and glasses as well.

We met Darnell when we were downstairs at dinner. Thankfully this evening’s food was nice and basic and tasty - baked potatoes, chicken, veggies, and pasta Alfredo. The hospital food has been very surprisingly spicy every night which has been difficult for Chuck to eat with his raw mouth.

Fostoria, Ohio newspaper did a story on the accident.
